Packer Soulmates

Dating sites are becoming more and more popular. There are dating sites ranging from Chritianmingle.com (a dating site for Christians to meet), to Farmersonly.com (a dating site for southern farmer folks), to AsianDating.com (pretty self explanatory). The percentage of couples meeting online is increasing year after year. People say they feel more confident getting to know someone online and therefore become less nervous.
What does this have to do with sports? Well the Green Bay Packers have just created a website called GreenBayPackersLovers.com. This is a brand new website dedicated to Green Bay Packer football fans. Now fans can get romantic with each other and grow families with little Packer children! I find this quite hilarious and such a funny idea.
From personal experience, there’s no greater feeling than rooting your favorite team on with your life long partner who has the same passion. I expect a trend to follow with other sports teams creating similar websites. Check out their new website HERE

SportsCenters Not Top 10 of the Week

Every once in a while I'm going to feature the weeks Not Top 10 plays of the week presented by SportsCenter. There was a lot of action in sports this week. You can catch some of funniest bloopers from this week in the video above.
This was opening week in for Major League Baseball. There was a lot of miscommunications for some teams. The number 10 play of the week features Derek Jeter and Kelly Johnson. The ball just goes right through both of their legs. Things like this happen but what shouldn't happen is play number 5. Junior Lake of the Chicago Cubs was wearing the wrong uniform! He didn't realize it until the game was about to be underway. The monster Mike Trout also made the cut but not because he made a mistake (he never makes mistakes). He hit a shot to left field and the ball got stuck in the wall. I've never seen something like that happen.
Moving on from baseball comes the number one play, which features Wichita States Cleanthony Early. Everything goes wrong in his attempt to win the dunk competition. He fails miserably. While attempting to jump over 3 fans, his foot hit the fans head because he did not jump high enough. This caused Early to fall to the ground and not even come close. Check out the Not Top 10 above!

Lebron the Copy Cat

Come on Lebron! It's like you are asking to get made fun of. Last night after the Miami Heat lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves Lebron James decided to sport a "Pharrel like hat." As you can all remember, Pharrell wore the same hat at the Grammy Awards this year. This sparked up a lot of talk and Pharrell was teased quite a bit.

The extremely ironic thing about this hat is that Pharrell wears it every time he sings the song "Happy." After losing a close battle in double overtime, Lebrons intentions of wearing this hat could be questioned. Did he wear this hat to just gain attention for himself? Did he wear the hat to distract the media from the loss? Or did he wear it because he was simply happy?

The Miami Heat are once again heading into the playoffs but the question is can they beat the Pacers again? This is one of the teams that they struggle the most against. Many people say no team can be the Heat in a seven game series but I highly disagree. I believe the NBA Finals this year will be the Pacers vs. Spurs! What are your thoughts?

Mercer Boy Can Dance!

The action in this year's 2014 March Madness NCAA Basketball Tournament has been insane! The first couple of rounds are complete and we have already witnessed everything from buzzer beaters, to overtimes, to Cinderella stories.
The two teams that got everyone's attention is Dayton and Mercer. Dayton came into the tournament as an 11 seed but shocked the world in the first round by beating the 6th seed Ohio State. In the second round everyone counted them out once again against Syracuse. They went on to win this game as well! They are now matched up against Stanford in the Sweet 16, which will be played this weekend!
The focus of this article is on the number 14 seed Mercer. Mercer beat the number 3 seed Duke in the first round of play. Almost every person who filled out a bracket lost their chance at a perfect bracket and the billion dollars Warren Buffet was offering. The best story about this win is the Nae Nae dance by Mercers very own Kevin Canevari. What makes this even more hilarious is that Kevin did not score one single point in this victory. Mercer went on to get blown out by Tennessee in round two. Check out the video above!

The NCAA Basketball Tournament is Finally Upon Us!

That time of year that all sports fans have been waiting for is finally here! March Madness is upon us! Starting tomorrow teams will kick it off in the first rounds of battle. There has been much hype on filling out your brackets. It's one of the top gambling events in the country!
Who's going to win? Will it be the Florida Gators? Maybe Kansas? Michigan State? Or could it be the undefeated Wichita State? Many people are filling out their brackets. Even president Obama has filled out his bracket and shared his picks with the country. He's going with Michigan State to win it all. After much research, I've noticed most experts have Florida, Arizona, Michigan State, and Wichita State.
What has been the biggest news about this years March Madness is a statement made by billionaire Warren Buffet. He stated that if anyone picks a perfect bracket, he will give them one billion dollars! This may seem like a great challenge, but good luck. The odds of picking a perfect bracket are 1 in 9 quintillion. I've never even heard of that number. Your odds of hitting the PowerBall are 20 times greater than picking a perfect bracket.
Many ESPN sports casters advise you to stay away from filling out a bracket. They say that it ruins the tournament for you because you get so frustrated and can't enjoy the games. This only applies to die hard basketball fans. If you're not a huge basketball fan, go ahead and fill out a bracket. Following the games will definitely educate you. Make sure you compare yours to President Barack Obama's! Fill out your bracket HERE!

Bryce Harper Is Not On Steroids

Harper looking like a house

Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals made it clear that this offseason he was going to work as hard as he can to get bigger and better. With all the allegations going on in the MLB, he wanted to make it clear that he wasn't on performance enhancing drugs. He stated that coming into training camp in 2014 that he would be "as big as a house."

He strolled into camp looking gigantic just as he promised. The funniest thing about it is what he was wearing. He came into camp with a shirt that read "PED FREE." PED = Performance Enhancing Drugs. In an interview with Harper he expressed his excitement for the new baseball year coming up. He is now entering his third Major League season. He had to undergo knee surgery in the offseason. He claims he's feeling refreshed and ready to play ball.

PED FREEIn his first two seasons he broke a .270 batting average with twenty or more home runs in both seasons. This is pretty impressive for a new player in the league. Usually it takes a few years to make it to the show but Harper has been a huge prospect since his youth. I expect huge number from Bryce Harper this season.

NFL COMBINE: 40 Yard Dash Facial Expressions

Faces of the 40-yard dash

The NFL Combine has finally come to a close today leaving behind many great performances and showing who has the most talent. Many players value went up as others went down. These drills test the athlete’s ability and allow scouts and coaches to evaluate them. Players must do a bunch of drills including bench press, vertical jump, shuttle run, and of course the 40-yard dash.
In this article I will be focusing on the 40-yard dash. Athletes push themselves to the limit to get the quickest time possible. There were many notable 40-yard dash times but the fastest time was ran by an unexpected player. His name is Dri Archer. He ran a 4.26 second 40-yard dash, coming in as the second fastest in NFL Combine history! His stock definitely went up after this performance. Other notable performances include Jadeveon Clowney’s 4.46 and wide receiver Sammy Watkin’s time of 4.34
As the players push themselves to run fast, they usually make hilarious faces. The cameraman captured these faces for all of us to get a good laugh at. Check out the pictures above for a quick Sports Giggle!
